Allianz Life Welcomes Kumar Das Gupta as New Leader of Enterprise Operations

MINNEAPOLIS – June 02, 2021 – Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America (Allianz Life) today announced Kumar Das Gupta joined the organization as senior vice president of Enterprise Operations, starting June 1. The role includes leadership of Life Underwriting, New Business, Inforce Operations, Contact Center, Operations Data Analytics and Reporting, and Enterprise Producer Services, totaling over 500 employees.

“Kumar brings a broad depth of experience both within the industry and specific to developing and managing efficient and effective operations,” said Cathy Mahone, chief administrative officer, Allianz Life. “We are confident he will enhance our operational structure to help us deliver on our promises and deliver consistently great customer experiences.”

Das Gupta spent the last five years with Brighthouse Financial Insurance Company where he most recently led operations as senior vice president, head of Operations. In this role, he was responsible for policy administration, vendor management, sales commissions management, and continued transformation efforts.

Prior to Brighthouse, Das Gupta held various operations, distribution and finance roles of increasing responsibility with Deutsche Bank, Prudential Insurance Company, American Express, Port Authority of NY & NJ, and MetLife Insurance company. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Business and a Master of Science degree in Finance and Management Information Systems, both from State University of New York.
