Allianz Life Awards $42,000 in Scholarships to Area Students

Legacy Scholarship Program supports employees’ college-bound children

MINNEAPOLIS – June 23, 2017 – Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America (Allianz Life®) announced today that it has awarded 14 scholarships totaling $42,000 as part of its Legacy Scholarship Program. Through this program, Allianz Life awards college scholarships to children of its employees and recognizes these students for excellence in academics, community involvement, and conveying the Allianz Life core values of integrity, caring and respect. Since it began more than 25 years ago, the company has given more than 250 students $792,000 in scholarship funds.

  • Brendan Barrow from Edina, Minn., attending Pomona College
  • Madelyn Maietta from Little Canada, Minn., attending St. Scholastica
  • Sarah Sames from Mahtomedi, Minn., attending University of Wisconsin – Madison
  • Madison Johnson from Midvale, Utah, attending Arizona State University
  • Jake Vanderzanden from Minnetonka, Minn., attending Moody Bible Institute
  • Thomas Bredemus from North Oaks, Minn., attending University of Wisconsin – Madison
  • Jacob Busse from Plymouth, Minn., attending University of Missouri
  • Jeeva Palanisamy from Plymouth, Minn., attending University of Minnesota – Twin Cities
  • Stephanie Petsilis from Plymouth, Minn., attending University of Alabama

The Allianz Legacy Scholarship Program was established as the Rosie Wineland Memorial Scholarship in 1991, and honors employees who have passed away and supports their legacies.
