Allianz Life Awards $70,000 in College Scholarships to High-Achieving Students

Company Announces Recipients of Employee Legacy Scholarship Program

MINNEAPOLIS – June 20, 2018 – Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America (Allianz Life®) has awarded 14 college scholarships totaling $70,000 as part of its Legacy Scholarship Program. The program recognizes the achievements of employees’ children to help them attain their higher education goals.

As part of its annual Legacy Scholarship Program, Allianz Life awards college scholarships to the children of its employees who demonstrate superior academic results while being involved in community outreach and volunteerism. Since the program began more than 25 years ago, the company has given over 260 students more than $900,000 in scholarship funds. “Each year, we continue to be impressed by the achievements of these outstanding students,” said Walter White, President and CEO, Allianz Life. “The students who were chosen to receive a scholarship have gone above and beyond in their education and in their communities, and they convey the Allianz Life core values of integrity, caring, excellence and respect.”

  • Luke Hauritz from Edina, MN, attending Iowa State University (Ames, IA)
  • Claire Rude from Albertville, MN, attending University of Minnesota, Twin Cities (Minneapolis, MN)
  • Alex Walther from Chanhassen, MN, attending University of Iowa (Iowa City, IA)
  • Delaney Smith from Eau Claire, WI, attending University of Minnesota, Twin Cities (Minneapolis, MN)
  • Cade McMahon from Blaine, MN, attending Iowa State University (Ames, IA)
  • Trevor Leaf from Brooklyn Park, MN, attending Arizona State University (Tempe, AZ)

The Allianz Legacy Scholarship Program was established as the Rosie Wineland Memorial Scholarship in 1991, and honors employees who have passed away and supports their legacies.
