MINNEAPOLIS – April 25, 2019 – For the third year in a row, Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America (Allianz Life®) has earned a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index (CEI), meaning the company is included among the Best Places to Work for LGBTQ Equality.
The CEI is a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) workplace equality, administered each year by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation.
“We are very proud to again be recognized by the HRC for the work we do to foster a workplace where every person feels welcome, connected, and valued,” said Jenny Guldseth, chief human resources officer, Allianz Life. “At Allianz Life, we are focused on creating a diverse workplace where every person is able to contribute their talents and offer their perspectives.”
Allianz Life is committed to making sure all employees feel welcome, accepted and valued at work. One of the key ways the company achieves this is through its Employee Resource Group, Allianz Pride, which is dedicated to supporting LGBTQ colleagues through inclusion, ally engagement, education, community involvement, and outreach. The group also networks with other companies, participates in Twin Cities LGBTQ events and supports local and national equal rights initiatives.
The annual CEI survey evaluates companies’ LGBT-related policies including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBT community. Employers that earn a 100-percent rating on the CEI have satisfied all the criteria established for that year and are recognized as a Best Place to Work for LGBT equality. In 2019, Allianz Life was among 571 companies that received a 100-percent rating. For more information on the 2019 CEI report, visit www.hrc.org/cei.
