MINNEAPOLIS – Jan. 21, 2020 – As a recognition of its commitment to diversity and inclusion, Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America (Allianz Life®) announced today that is has earned a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index (CEI). This rating means the company is included among the Best Places to Work for LGBTQ Equality for the fourth consecutive year.
The CEI is a national benchmarking survey on corporate policies and practices related to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) workplace equality, administered each year by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation.
“We believe that everyone should be able to come to work as their true self, and feel welcomed, equal, and included,” said Cecilia Stanton Adams, Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer, Allianz Life. “We’re committed to making sure Allianz Life continues to provide an inclusive culture for every single one of our employees, with policies and benefits that reflect it.”
One of the key ways the company achieves this is through its Employee Resource Group, Allianz Pride, which is dedicated to supporting LGBTQ colleagues through inclusion, ally engagement, education, community involvement, and outreach. The group also networks with other companies, participates in Twin Cities LGBTQ events, and supports local and national equal rights initiatives.
The annual CEI survey evaluates companies’ LGBT-related policies including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBT community. Employers that earn a 100-percent rating on the CEI have satisfied all the criteria established for that year and are recognized as a Best Place to Work for LGBT equality. In 2020, Allianz Life was among 686 companies that received a 100-percent rating. For more information on the 2020 CEI report, visit www.hrc.org/cei.
