Reducing barriers to economic inclusion 

Financial stability

We understand that to be included in economic life, basic needs have to be met first. Allianz supports organizations that provide essential needs to members of the community, including food, shelter, and clothing, with a focus on creating stability and financial independence.

Financial success is sustained through equitable access to resources and opportunities for gainful employment. Allianz supports organizations that help members of the community be successful in the workforce, including through college preparedness, skills training, entrepreneurial support, and access to capital and investment.

Financial security

Long-term financial security and retirement readiness requires preparation and financial knowledge. Allianz supports organizations that help ensure all community members have financial well-being, know how to prepare for their future, and are protected from fraud and other financial abuses.

Allianz Field and Midway community support

As proud sponsors of Allianz Field®, home of Minnesota United, our commitment to the Midway community goes beyond having our name on the building. We work to partner with and positively impact this significant community in the Twin Cities – particularly during times of need.

Partnership with Keystone Community Services

Allianz started partnering with Midway area food shelf provider Keystone Community Services to address food insecurity in 2018, helping to stock their food shelves during the pivotal summer months when donations are typically lower.

Since then, we have partnered to stage multiple food donation and distribution events, including several “Free Farmers Market in a Box” events at Allianz Field. To date, those events have delivered more than 250,000 pounds of food to more than 4,000 households in the Midway and surrounding communities.

Volunteerism and culture of giving

We know that giving starts with each employee and what matters to them as individuals. Our employees actively support many nonprofit organizations in the community, and Allianz provides a variety of opportunities for them to give back by getting involved. These include:

V8 (Volunteer 8) Program

Through our V8 Program, Allianz provides employees eight hours of paid time off each year to volunteer with any eligible charitable organization.

Make-A-Difference (MAD) projects

MAD supports employee volunteerism through funding to nonprofits where groups of employees volunteer. The program provides donations of $100 per employee volunteer to qualifying organizations, up to $10,000 per organization.

Leadership Board Support

Allianz makes financial donations of up to $5,000 to organizations that have an Allianz leader serving on their board.

Employee-elected charities

Allianz works to reduce barriers to economic inclusion by helping our community build financial stability, sustainability, and security. Every year we ask employees to vote for four nonprofit organizations which are each awarded a $25,000 grant and a company-sponsored volunteer event. Additionally, we commit to Making A Difference (MAD) Volunteer Projects in which employees have the opportunity to support each charity through volunteer hours.

Our annual fundraising events

Spirit of Giving, our biannual food, clothing, and toy drive, benefits Keystone Community Services, PRISM, the ARC Minnesota, Second Harvest Heartland, and Toys for Tots. The goal of Spirit of Giving is to provide opportunities for employees to have a positive impact on the lives of others in our community.

Over the past 21 years, Spirit of Giving has raised more than 383,000 pounds of clothes, 415,000 pounds of food and $1.5 million in cash donations.

Driving2Donate

Our Driving2Donate Charity Golf Tournament benefitting the Alzheimer’s Association MN-ND is one of the top charity golf tournaments in Minnesota. The tournament raises more than $150,000 annually that supports care consultations, support groups, and the Alzheimer’s Helpline. More than 300 employees and vendors participate or volunteer, and Allianz donates 100% of the proceeds to the Alzheimer’s Association.
