Helping the Midway community near Allianz Field
In June, we hosted a Free Farmers Market at Allianz Field, where community members were able to receive a full box of assorted food items, including fresh produce, meat, and dairy. In addition, we also announced a $50,000 donation match for contributions to Keystone Community Services to help provide access to healthy food for those living in the area. Last, we teamed up with Minnesota United, donating $75,000 to the Neighbors United Funding Collaborative to support area residents, local businesses, and organizations during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Donating to food banks that our neighbors rely on
Since the start of the pandemic, we have donated $100,000 to local food shelves to ensure our community neighbors retain access to food. Our partner organizations, PRISM and Second Harvest Heartland, each received a $50,000 donation. We also provided a $20,000 emergency grant to support Metro Meals on Wheels to help ensure individuals and families continue to receive meals during this time.
Making a difference in our community
So many organizations are looking for support during this challenging time, including those that serve diverse communities that are disproportionately impacted by COVID-19. To help, we’ve made donations to Summit Academy OIC, Black Women’s Wealth Alliance, and the Neighborhood Development Center. We also donated $5,000 to YouthLink, which provides a safe place for young people seeking help in our community. In addition, the Allianz Foundation of North America made a matching grant, for a total of $10,000, on behalf of all Allianz Group employees in our community.
