1896    Henry M. Little forms North American Casualty in Minneapolis. Through a series of mergers and acquisitions, the company would become Allianz Life.
     
1912     North American Casualty merges with North American Life Association to form North American Life and Casualty.
     
1971   MONY Life insurance Co. acquires North American Life and Casualty.
     
1979   North American Life and Casualty joins the German conglomerate Allianz through an acquisition.
     
1993   The company changes its name to Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America.
     
2000   Allianz Life becomes the #1 carrier of fixed index annuities in the United States.
     
2001   Allianz Life moves into its new headquarters at 5701 Golden Hills Drive, Golden Valley, Minn.
     
2011   Fortune Magazine names Allianz Life one of the 100 Best Companies to Work For for the first time.
     
2013   Assets under management exceed $100 billion.
     
2017   Allianz Life becomes the title sponsor of Major League Soccer’s Minnesota United FC stadium, Allianz Field®, in the Midway neighborhood of St. Paul.
     
2020   Allianz Investment Management LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Allianz Life, launches an exchange-traded fund (ETF) product line.
     
2020   Allianz Life launches Allianz Advisory Solutions, expanding its service for advisors.
     
2021   Allianz Life begins an eight-year worldwide partnership with the Olympic and Paralympic Movements.
     
2021   Jasmine Jirele is named president and CEO, succeeding Walter White.
     
2022   Allianz Life enters the defined contribution market with its Allianz Lifetime Income+® Annuity for employer-sponsored plans.
