Performance information is based on the past performance of a product's investment options. It is not an indicator of future results.

Performance data quoted represents past performance. Past performance is not a guarantee of future results. Investment return and principal value will fluctuate with market conditions, so that units, when redeemed, may be worth more or less than the original cost. Current performance may be lower or higher than the performance information quoted. To access the most current month-end performance, please click the Standardized tab above.

Performance is calculated on the basis of historical performance of each investment option. Actual performance from the date the Separate Account began investing in the investment option is shown. Performance is also shown from the inception date of the investment option as if the variable annuity contract existed at that time, which it did not. Performance figures show the change in value of a hypothetical investment over the indicated periods, assuming reinvestment of dividends and capital gains.

Standarized performance.
Standardized performance information reflects the deduction of the Mortality and Expense risk (M&E) charge and any applicable administrative charge for all listed products except the following variable annuities, which do not have M&E charges:

  • Allianz Index Advantage® New York Variable Annuity reflects deduction of the product fee,
  • Allianz Retirement Advantage® New York Variable Annuity reflects deduction of the Portfolio Choice Account fee, and
  • Allianz Retirement Pro® New York Variable Annuity reflects deduction of the Base Account fee.

The M&E charge, administrative charge, Portfolio Choice Account fee and Base Account fee are assessed daily against the investment option’s net asset value. The product fee is also shown as assessed daily against the investment option’s net asset value although in an actual contract it is assessed against the Charge Base and deducted quarterly.

Standardized performance information for all listed products also reflects the fees and expenses of the investment options after reductions for fee waivers and expense reimbursements, annual contract maintenance charge, and withdrawal charge for all products except for Allianz Retirement Advantage New York and Allianz Retirement Pro New York variable annuities, which do not have withdrawal charges.

Standardized performance information does not reflect the deduction of any optional rider charge, or other account fee. Performance would be lower if the investment options fees were calculated before reductions for waivers and reimbursements, or if rider charges or other account fees were deducted. Investment option fee waivers and expense reimbursements are not permanent and may be discontinued. Please see your contract for information on the fees and charges applicable to your product.

NAV performance.
Net Asset Value (NAV) performance figures reflect deduction of all investment option fees and expenses, but do not reflect the deduction of any variable annuity product fees such as the M&E charge, withdrawal charge, or annual contract maintenance charge which would reduce values shown here if included. Performance would be lower if these charges were deducted.

Investing in a variable annuity may be the answer for part of your overall retirement strategy. A variable offers a unique combination of features, including market participation through a variety of investment options; tax-deferred growth opportunities; and optional protection benefits that can provide certain accumulation, income, and beneficiary guarantees for an additional cost.

Variable annuities are subject to investment risk, including loss of principal, and contract values fluctuate daily. Investment returns and principal value will fluctuate with market conditions so that units, upon distribution, may be worth more or less than the original cost.

Variable investment options are available only as investment options in variable life insurance policies and variable annuity contracts issued by life insurance companies. They are not made available to the general public directly.
