How we’re doing the work at Allianz

This commitment has to begin within our own walls. We want diversity, equity, and inclusion to be business as usual here at Allianz. It is a critical way we live out our company values.

We have developed a number of groups to help drive equity and inclusion at our company. We have nine employee resource and inclusion groups and a DEI Council of employees.

DEI Council

The DEI Council is a cross-organizational group of employees responsible for creating strategic accountability for results, providing governance and oversight on diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, and promoting company-wide communications on progress.

True Connections Sponsorship Program for diverse talent is an example of our commitment to accelerating the pipeline of extraordinary employees at Allianz. It includes a collaborative connection between participants to further professional development and elevate the sponsored into their next career move.

McKinsey Leadership Academy for Diverse Talent

The McKinsey Leadership Academy for Diverse Talent is a program dedicated to helping accelerate the progression of Black, Asian, and Latinx leaders. As part of this partnership, Allianz selected several employees to be a part of a six-month management accelerator program with the goal of growing into senior leadership roles.

Allianz Employee Resource and Inclusion Groups

Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) and Inclusion Groups are voluntary, employee-led groups that foster an inclusive workplace aligned with the mission, values, and objectives of the business. These groups help develop future leaders and increase employee engagement. They also boost understanding of key issues affecting our diverse community, as well as help to expand marketplace reach. These groups are funded by the organization and are responsible for delivering on performance goals set by the ERG leadership.

Adelante!

Adelante! exists to create awareness and educate Allianz employees at all levels on the diversity of the Latino/Hispanic culture. It promotes an inclusive forum for Latino/Hispanic employees and allies to connect and share perspectives, work to attract and retain Latino/Hispanic talent, and offer networking and development opportunities as well as support of our local communities.

How we’re supporting a more equitable community

We want our community to be a better place for all who live here. We’re engaged in a number of initiatives to help support diverse businesses, expand economic opportunities, and improve racial equity in Minnesota and beyond.

Supplier diversity

Our commitment to a diverse and inclusive workplace extends to the goods, services, and commodities we source, and the contingency staffing and consultants we partner with. Our collaboration with underutilized businesses through our supplier diversity efforts helps promote opportunity within our supply chain.

How we’re investing in a more equitable Minnesota

MSP Equity Fund

Allianz is one of the anchor investors in the $50 million venture capital fund. The MSP Equity Fund is designed to invest in local companies led by people of color, boost the economy, and bring more venture activity to Minnesota.

Affordable housing investments

Through Allianz Investment Management LLC, we’re investing in affordable housing throughout the United States and right here in our hometown. Investing in the success of our community in the long term helps reduce barriers to economic inclusion and provide stability to those who need it most.
