Strengthening the future of our community

Community engagement at Allianz

content-azl-allianz-for-tomorrow

Our mission – we secure your future – doesn’t stop at retirement planning for our customers. At Allianz, we help secure the future of our employees and broader community in the Twin Cities by reducing barriers to economic inclusion.

We believe we can create a lasting and positive impact in the lives of many generations to come by increasing access to basic needs, gainful employment, and financial knowledge. We accomplish this through our Allianz for Tomorrow community engagement program, which includes corporate grantmaking and a deeply engaged employee volunteer network.

From challenges to change: Our impact on YouthLink’s fight against youth homelessness

As part of our commitment to building pathways to financial security in the Twin Cities, we are a proud partner of YouthLink, a local nonprofit that supports young people experiencing homelessness on their journey to self-reliance. YouthLink ensures young people can thrive and reach their full potential by providing access to basic needs, education, supportive housing, and more. At a time when YouthLink continues to face increasing demands, Allianz provides multi-year charitable contributions, advocacy, and volunteerism, including through Impact Day. Each year on Impact Day, more than 250 Allianz Life employee volunteers come together to pack 4,000 hygiene kits to help ensure clients at YouthLink and other food shelf partners in the Twin Cities have access to basic needs that can be hard for them to keep in stock.

Building partnerships for long-term impact

As part of our corporate grant program, we focus on larger, multi-year grants to local nonprofits focused on reducing barriers to economic inclusion, with 75% of funds going to organizations located in or serving the Midway community in St. Paul near Allianz Field®. These types of investments allow nonprofits to have a longer-term view on inequities in our community that often have no quick fixes. With funding secured over multiple years, organizations can spend more time focusing on problem solving and implementation, and less on fundraising.

V8 (Volunteer 8) Program

Through our V8 Program, Allianz provides employees eight hours of paid time off each year to volunteer with any eligible charitable organization.

Group volunteer programs

We support employee engagement through the funding of up to $10,000 for eligible nonprofits where groups of employees volunteer or participate in fundraisers.

Our annual fundraising events

Each year, we host fundraising events to make a positive impact through the donations of time, funds and goods.

$2M

raised to increase financial stability

Each year during our Spirit of Giving campaign, employees donate food, clothing, and toys benefiting PRISM, the ARC Minnesota, Second Harvest Heartland, and Toys for Tots.
