MINNEAPOLIS – Sept. 19, 2023 – Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America (Allianz Life) has been named as one of the Seramount 2023 Top 75 Companies for Executive Women. The annual list celebrates companies that help champion women’s achievements, with a focus on succession planning, gender-pay parity, employee support, and flexibility programs.
According to data from Seramount, there has been a significant jump in women at the CEO level. In 2023, 17 percent of companies reported a woman CEO, up from 13 percent in 2022. At the same time, the pipeline to the top is also increasing, with 39 percent of candidates to be CEO or in the C-suite are women, an increase of five percent from 2022.
At Allianz Life, 44 percent of the executive leadership group are women, including President and CEO Jasmine Jirele.
“We know that companies with diverse leadership across all dimensions – including gender – tend to be more innovative and more successful, with a higher level of employee engagement,” said Jirele. “That is definitely the case here at Allianz Life and it is a privilege to be one of many female leaders here helping to drive that.”
The 2023 Top 75 Companies application includes more than 200 questions on pertinent topics, including women representation at all levels, but focuses on the corporate officer and profit-and-loss leadership ranks. The application, based on 2022 data, tracks and examines how many employees have access to programs and policies that promote advancement of women and how many women employees take advantage of them, as well as how companies train managers to help women advance. To be considered, companies must have a minimum of two women on their boards of directors and at least 500 US employees.
