[Jason] My name is Jason. I'm 45 years old, and I need financial protection for my family if anything should happen to me.

This is them. Good looking bunch, aren't they? And I also want the potential to build up an asset that can help with retirement or financial emergencies, that kind of thing. But the markets are so volatile right now. So much uncertainty. I just want a level of control. Is that too much to ask? Actually, it depends on who you ask.
[On-screen disclosure] The death benefit is generally passed income-tax-free to beneficiaries. Policy loans and withdrawals will reduce the available cash value and death benefit and may cause unintended consequences, including lapse or taxable events. Please see full loan and withdrawal disclosure within this material for details. [End of on-screen disclosure]
With Allianz Life Pro+® Advantage, I get death benefit protection, sure, but I also have the potential to accumulate more cash value in my policy and use policy loans and withdrawals to access any available cash value for whatever I want.
Now I know what you're thinking. Jason, isn't that just more market risk? Here's the thing: With Allianz Life Pro+® Advantage, my money's not actually invested in the market.
[On-screen disclosure] Although an external index may affect your interest credited, the policy does not directly participate in any equity or fixed income investments. Certain fees and expenses will reduce policy values. [End of on-screen disclosure]
Instead, I choose one or more indexes, and when that index has annual growth, the interest is locked in and credited to my accumulation value based on the crediting method I've chosen. And if the index drops, guess what? I don't lose any accumulation value.

Of course, there's still the uncertainty of the markets, I know, so I've allocated some of my accumulation value to a volatility-controlled index.
[On-screen disclosure] In addition to several index allocations, a fixed interest allocation is also available. [End of on-screen disclosure]
That's a kind of index that rebalances its portfolio daily to seek stability in volatile markets.
[On-screen disclosure] Auto Lock is available with select index allocations. [End of on-screen disclosure]
And my policy also has a feature called Auto Lock that can reduce the possibility of my earning zero interest in a given year by giving me the opportunity to lock in an index value once during a crediting period automatically.
[On-screen disclosure] This hypothetical example is provided for illustrative purposes only and does not represent an actual Allianz client. Setting targets authorizes Allianz to automatically activate an Index Lock once if the target is reached based on the index interest rate percentage at the end of the business day. Targets need to be renewed after each crediting period and must be greater than the current index return for the crediting period. This service may be discontinued at any time. [End of on-screen disclosure]
I simply set a target value, say, an 8% increase, and if my index value reaches that point or even goes higher, it's automatically locked in until the end of the crediting period, no matter what happens in the market afterward.

I can target a higher index value, like 10%, but I could be subject to more volatility, too. Or I can target a lower value, let's say 6%. By locking in at a lower index value, I could experience less volatility, and I like that.
Of course, this doesn't mean I'm guaranteed to earn this interest over time, but with Auto Lock, I don't have to feel like I'm always at the mercy of the ups and downs of the market. In fact, I don't even have to pay attention day to day. Is the market up right now? Don't need to know, don't want to know.
