[Narrator] The underwriting process: What happens after you apply for life insurance from Allianz?
First off, you've made an important decision. A life insurance policy can provide long-term financial protection for yourself and your loved ones. And once you apply for coverage, our underwriting process helps us in making an approval.
It begins with a personal history interview. You'll be emailed a request for the interview. This interview will happen by phone and will last about 30 minutes. You'll provide information regarding your health, lifestyle, current medications, and your family's health history. We'll also ask for some basic financial information.
The sooner you complete your personal history interview, the more it can help speed up the underwriting process. To be sure you have all the necessary answers, ask your financial professional for an Underwriting Made Easy form, and fill out page two. This will be information you'll need during your personal history interview phone call.
Once you’ve finished your personal history interview, and assuming you've met certain criteria, your application will be either approved or we'll ask for additional health information and call you to schedule a medical exam with lab work. The exam can be conducted at your home and should take about 20 minutes. We'll be checking your height, weight, and blood pressure, and collecting blood and urine samples. Be sure to have a list of your current medications and a photo ID on hand for your appointment.
Depending on the amount of coverage you're applying for, we may also ask to see your medical records. After that, your part is finished. We'll complete our evaluation using your personal history interview and medical exam results, and then make a decision, which your financial professional will share with you. Thank you for your interest in a life insurance policy from Allianz. We hope to work with you to create a more financially protected future. If you have any questions, your financial professional will be glad to help.
