MINNEAPOLIS – Nov. 20, 2025 – In response to rising food insecurity across the Twin Cities, Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America (Allianz Life) is reaffirming its partnership with Keystone Community Services by committing $450,000 over the next three years. This renewed investment will help Keystone, a Midway-based nonprofit, continue its mission of providing food and support to neighbors in need.
As the holiday season approaches, local food shelves and pantries are bracing for a surge in demand. Recent reductions in federal support and ongoing uncertainty around Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits have made it even more challenging for Minnesota nonprofits to meet the growing needs of the community.
“Every day, we see families and neighbors struggling to put food on the table. It’s heartbreaking, and it reminds us why our work is so urgent,” said Adero Riser Cobb, president and CEO, Keystone Community Services. “Having Allianz by our side gives us the support we need to help people in their most difficult moments. The renewed commitment from Allianz means we can continue to meet urgent needs.”
To help meet the rising need of Twin Cities nonprofits offering food services, Allianz Life has directed more of its annual grants to support food providers this year, topping $1 million in commitments.
“Allianz is focused on building financial security for the long term, but we also recognize the importance of stepping up when our community needs us most,” said Kenna Poppler, Director of Community Engagement at Allianz Life. “We have been partners of Keystone for 15 years, and are proud to support their critical work to help ensure that no one in our community goes hungry.”
As part of their emergency food response, Keystone is also hosting a drive-through Free Farmers Market on Friday, Nov. 21 from 12 p.m.-2 p.m. at Roseville Covenant Church 2865 Hamline Ave N, St. Paul, MN.
