Allianz 222® Annuity

Are you concerned about saving enough for retirement, while protecting a portion of your portfolio? Allianz 222® Annuity may be a good choice if you want flexibility and don’t need retirement income for at least 10 years. It offers two ways to get a bonus,1 two ways to get an income increase, and two ways for your beneficiaries to receive the death benefit.

Valuable benefits plus flexibility

Allianz 222® is designed to emphasize lifetime income in retirement. Because it’s a fixed index annuity (FIA), it offers tax-deferred growth, protects your principal and credited interest from market downturns, and provides a death benefit for beneficiaries. It also has innovative features that may give you even more potential, as our video explains.

Features of Allianz 222® Annuity

Two ways to get a bonus

Allianz 222® Annuity offers two ways to receive a bonus on the Protected Income Value of your contract.1 You’ll receive a 40% premium bonus on any premium you place in your annuity in the first 18 months. You’ll also receive an interest bonus resulting in a credit of 150% of any fixed and/or indexed interest your contract earns – for as long as you live.

Two ways to get an income increase

When you’re ready to start receiving income, your lifetime income withdrawals can increase based on any interest you’ve earned, enhanced by the 150% interest bonus factor. Plus, you can double your annual maximum withdrawal under qualifying circumstances.

Two ways to get a death benefit

Allianz 222® Annuity also gives beneficiaries the option to receive your annuity's full accumulation value2 in a lump sum if they wish, or instead, they can receive the full Protected Income Value as annuity payments over at least five years.

Index Lock

React to volatility by locking in a positive index value at any point during the crediting period. Index Lock can assure you receive a positive index credit, no matter what happens in the market during the remainder of the crediting period.3

Allocation options

An allocation option is the combination of an index – such as the S&P 500® Index – and a crediting method. Allianz 222® lets you choose among the following indexes (options may vary by state).

Crediting methods

Crediting methods are simply mathematical formulas that determine how much indexed interest your annuity receives based on changes in an index during a given timeframe ("crediting period").

1The premium bonus and interest bonus are credited only to the Protected Income Value (PIV). To receive the PIV, including the bonus, the contract must be held for at least 10 contract years, and then lifetime income withdrawals must be taken. You will not receive the bonuses if the contract is fully surrendered or if traditional annuitization payments are taken. If it is partially surrendered the PIV will be reduced proportionally, which could result in a partial loss of bonuses. Income withdrawals are considered partial withdrawals and are subject to ordinary income tax and, if taken prior to age 59½, a 10% federal additional tax. Because this is a bonus annuity, it may include higher surrender charges, longer surrender charge periods, lower caps, higher spreads, or other restrictions that are not included in similar annuities that don't offer a bonus feature.

2The lump-sum death benefit is equal to the greater of the contract’s accumulation value, cumulative withdrawal amount, or guaranteed minimum value.

3Exercising an Index Lock may result in an interest credit higher or lower than had the lock not been exercised.
