Features of Allianz Retirement Foundation ADV®

Simplified indexing

You can direct the premium in your annuity toward one or a combination of four index allocation options with the annual point-to-point crediting method, or a fixed interest allocation.

Increasing withdrawal percentages

Thanks to the Income Benefit rider (included for an additional charge), beginning at age 45, the longer you wait to start income, the higher your income withdrawal percentage will be.

Immediate income option

You can also start taking income immediately after buying your contract if you’re at least age 50, or at the start of any contract year once you turn 50.1

Withdrawal options

After the first contract year, each year you can withdraw up to 10% of the premium you placed in your contract.2 You can also access the money in your contract as a lump sum without withdrawal charges after only seven years.

Allocation options

An allocation option is the combination of an index (such as the S&P 500® Index) and a crediting method. Retirement Foundation ADV® lets you choose among the following allocation options.

Crediting methods

Crediting methods are simply mathematical formulas that determine how much indexed interest your annuity receives based on changes in an index during a given timeframe (“crediting period”).

1 You can start taking lifetime withdrawals from your annuity immediately or on any contract anniversary after age 50 – but remember that you may be subject to a 10% federal early withdrawal penalty if you take withdrawals before age 59½. These lifetime withdrawal payments will last as long as you live.

2 With our penalty-free withdrawal option, after the first contract year, up to 10% of the contract’s premium paid can be withdrawn each contract year, as long as the money is withdrawn after the contract anniversary following the most recent premium payment; maximum is cash value.

During the first seven years, a withdrawal charge and MVA will apply if the contract is partially or fully surrendered. These charges may result in a loss of indexed interest and fixed interest and a partial loss of principal (premium).

Purchasing an annuity within a retirement plan that provides tax deferral under sections of the Internal Revenue Code results in no additional tax benefit. An annuity should be used to fund a qualified plan based upon the annuity’s features other than tax deferral. All annuity features, risks, limitations, and costs should be considered prior to purchasing an annuity within a tax-qualified retirement plan.

Any distributions are subject to ordinary income tax and, if taken prior to age 59½, a 10% federal additional tax.
