Index Advantage Income ADV® Annuity

Index Advantage Income ADV® is a registered index-linked annuity (RILA) designed to work with an advisory platform and to give you long-term growth potential – plus the opportunity for lifetime income, with our income benefit riders, which are selected at purchase for an additional cost.1

Index Advantage Income ADV® offers lifetime income with a balance of performance potential and a level of protection. It provides indexed return potential with the opportunity for varying levels of protection through multiple index options, tax-deferred growth potential, a variety of lifetime annuity payout options, a death benefit during the accumulation phase, and an income benefit (for an additional fee) that provides a choice between consistent, level income, or increasing income potential to help meet your needs.

RILAs are subject to investment risk, including possible loss of principal. Investment returns and principal value will fluctuate with market conditions so that contract value, upon distribution, may be worth more or less than the original cost.

Indexes available with the Index Advantage Income ADV® RILA index strategies

Because indexes may perform differently under similar market conditions, Index Advantage Income ADV® offers five indexes.

S&P 500® Index: A large-cap American stock market index based on market capitalizations of 500 companies. Often considered one of the best overall representations of the U.S. stock market.

Russell 2000® Index: A small-cap stock market index of the smallest 2,000 companies in the Russell 3000 Index. A common benchmark for companies that identify as small-cap based on market capitalization.

Nasdaq-100® Index: A large-cap market index that includes 100 of the largest domestic and international nonfinancial securities listed on the Nasdaq Stock Market.

iShares® MSCI Emerging Markets ETF: An exchange-traded fund that seeks to track the investment results of the MSCI Emerging Markets Index, which is designed to measure equity market performance in the global emerging markets. The underlying index may include large- and mid-capitalization companies.

EURO STOXX 50®: An international stock market index that provides a blue-chip representation of supersector leaders in the Eurozone. The index covers 50 stocks from 11 Eurozone countries.

Although an index or indexes will affect the index option values, the index options do not directly participate in any stock or equity investments and are not a direct investment in an index. The indexes are price return indexes, not total return indexes. This means that the index options do not receive any dividends payable on these securities.

The contract value could experience a loss over the term if the index declines more than the level of downside protection of the buffer or experiences losses down to the floor. It may not be able to participate fully in a market recovery due to cap or trigger rate limits on positive index returns in subsequent terms. Negative index returns in excess of the buffer, or down to the floor, on the term end date will reduce the contract value.

Talk to your registered representative to see if Index Advantage Income ADV® Annuity may be appropriate for you. Here are some questions they can help answer:

  1. Are your purchase payments protected?5
  2. How can this product fit into my overall portfolio?
  3. Are there guarantees available with this product?
  4. What else should I consider that might impact my retirement?

1 Index Advantage Income ADV® Annuity includes a 0.25% product fee plus rider fee(s) based on your rider selection. The Income Benefit rider fee is 0.70% and the Legacy+™ Income Benefit total rider fees are 1.55% (0.70% for the income benefit and an 0.85% additional rider fee for the Legacy+™ Benefit). The rider fees are accrued daily and deducted on each quarterly contract anniversary, calculated as a percentage of the Charge Base, which is the contract value on the preceding quarterly contract anniversary, adjusted for subsequent purchase payments and withdrawals. You must select an income benefit (either the Income Benefit or Legacy+™ Income Benefit) at issue and you cannot add or change the selected income benefit after issue.

2 Beginning at age 45, lifetime income percentages are guaranteed to increase each year clients wait to start income. Lifetime income payments can begin on any Index Anniversary once the eligible person reaches age 50, and no later than age 100 after a minimum waiting period of one index year. For joint payments, the age of the younger eligible person will be used to determine income percentages, income percentage increases, and when income payments begin.

Although waiting to begin income payments can increase the Lifetime Income Percentage, if the index returns result in a performance credit that is zero or negative, it may counteract any increase in the Lifetime Income Percentage and may result in a lower payment.

3 Double income payments come from the Income Multiplier factor. We establish the Income Multiplier Benefit wait period and the Income Multiplier factor on the date you sign your application provided we receive your initial purchase payment within the required time period, which may differ from the terms stated here. Income Benefit supplements with terms for each Allianz® RILA with Income Benefit can be found at www.allianzlife.com/rates.

4 Deductions for applicable fees and charges may result in a loss of principal or previously earned performance credits, which are the annual returns you may receive when you allocate to an index option, and will not receive a performance credit on the next Term End Date.

5 Deductions for applicable fees and charges may result in a loss of principal or previously earned performance credits, which are the annual returns you may receive when you allocate to an index option, and will not receive a performance credit on the next Term End Date.

SPDJI provides indices that use environmental, social and/or governance (ESG) indicators (including, without limit, business involvement screens, conformance to voluntary corporate standards, GHG emissions data, and ESG scores) to select, weight and/or exclude constituents. ESG indicators seek to measure a company’s, or an asset’s performance, with respect to E, S and/or G criteria. ESG indicators are derived from publicly reported data, modelled data, or a combination of reported and modelled data. ESG indicators are based on a qualitative assessment due to the absence of well-defined uniform market standards and the use of multiple methodologies to assess ESG factors. No single clear, definitive test or framework (legal, regulatory, or otherwise) exists to determine labels such as, ‘ESG’, ‘sustainable’, ‘good governance’, ‘no adverse environmental, social and/or other impacts’, or other equivalently labeled objectives.
